Pangia Beach | Seychelles Luxury Apartments

THE INTERIOR DESIGNER BEHIND PANGIA BEACH

Georgia, the interior designer behind Pangia Beach, tells us more about the design philosophy of our luxury beach apartments that are stylish and elegant, yet easy to live in and comfortable.

1. How long have you been in the interior design industry?
From a young age, interior design has always been my passion. My formal career in the industry started over 12 years ago when I joined Candy & Candy, the high-end interior design and residential development company in London. They are renowned for their recent One Hyde Park development, which is amongst the most expensive real estate in the world. When my husband and I relocated to New York at the end of 2006, I subsequently had the amazing opportunity to work for Kondylis Design, an architectural and interior design firm widely known for having created much of the Manhattan skyline. Upon returning to London in January 2009, I established Georgia Designs, my own interior design firm focused on high-end residential projects. For over two and half years now, my family and I have been living in Seychelles, my home country. We happily relocated in order to fulfill my late father's dream of creating an exclusive beach development with a marina.

2. Please describe the overall design aesthetic for Pangia Beach.
From the start, my vision for Pangia Beach has always been to build luxury beach apartments that are stylish and elegant, yet easy to live in and comfortable. The idea was to fuse my international high-end interior design experience with the carefree spirit of Seychelles, thereby creating contemporary, island-style apartments with a level of luxury and quality never seen before in Seychelles. Together with SAOTA, the internationally acclaimed architectural firm, we selected natural materials, such as lime washed oak, natural coloured Italian tiles, accents of local granite cladding and a light colour scheme in order to achieve the desired design aesthetic. In the words of Stefan Antoni, the founder of SAOTA, we created a residential development with "a modern take on barefoot luxury”. I’m extremely happy with the end result.

3. What lifestyle are you hoping to deliver to your clients?
Pangia Beach will be a secure boutique residential development offering owners the ultimate in luxury living with first class amenities on their doorstep. From spending time on the private beach or in the infinity pool, to enjoying water sports and boating from the property’s own marina, to exercising in a state-of-the-art gym or barbecuing with friends, owners will be spoilt for choice. For the more cosmopolitan-minded, Pangia Beach is just minutes away from the shops and restaurants of Eden Plaza and Victoria. The convenience of both its location on Mahé and the benefits of lateral living with direct lift access, covered carports and garages, makes Pangia Beach a unique place in the Seychelles to call home. In short, Pangia Beach will be a gateway to island life.

4. Please describe the colour scheme of Pangia Beach.
The colour scheme of Pangia Beach is a soothing combination of neutral tones accented with turquoise, the project’s signature colour. These colours were selected to create a tranquil and relaxing interior that reflects the crystal clear sea and white sandy beaches of the Seychelles. In addition, the neutral colour scheme allows the natural beauty of the turquoise sea, lush green foliage and surrounding granite mountains to shine. In fact, I have made sure that the wow factor, as one opens the front door, will always be the breathtaking sea view from each and every apartment.

5. Turquoise is part and parcel of Pangia Beach’s identity. What was your inspiration in selecting the colour?
Since my early childhood, I have always been inspired by the natural beauty of the Seychelles and have forever loved the turquoise colours of the Indian Ocean. In fact, the sea, as well as shells and corals, is often a strong theme in my interiors; even my wedding had a turquoise and shell theme. For me it was only natural that we selected turquoise as the Pangia Beach branding colour and combined it with a nautilus shell logo, which symbolises infinity and ultimate beauty. After all Pangia Beach is a story of love, family legacy and homecoming to my birthplace in the Seychelles.

6. As an interior designer, describe the finishes and quality you expect for Pangia Beach.
To create an exceptional home, it is my strong belief that one’s mindset must be uncompromisingly focused on the smallest of details. You can safely say that our attention to detail and pursuit of perfection are the very essence of Pangia Beach. On top of that, we are not just typical property developers; Pangia Beach will also be our family home and our own apartment will be finished in the same materials as the rest of the development. As such, we have made substantial efforts to select materials and finishes that are of excellent quality, often from European suppliers, and adapted to the tropical climate in order to withstand the test of time. Finally, in order to bring this exciting beachfront development to life, we appointed Laxmanbhai to the project, the best and most reputable contractor in Seychelles. They share our passion for perfection and are renowned for their unparalleled quality of finishing, craftsmanship and on time delivery.
